The complete pattern of Shin-yu (真友 = true friend) Infinity Scarf is now published on my Ravelry page.  It will remain there for FREE!

For more information on cowl length and starting stitch count, please read

I am especially excited and thankful that the translation team of CAL – Crochet A Long has kindly translated the pattern in UK terms, Afrikaans, Dutch, German, Spanish and Swedish!  (Please note that only the pattern in US terms has been tested.)

If you are on Facebook but have not checked out CAL – Crochet A Long group, it is a must!  It is a super friendly group that will temp you with all kinds of fun and gorgeous crochet projects.  I hope you will join in sharing your yarn choice and progress on their event page here.

And can I brag that my sweet daughter came home from college and stopped at Hill Country Weavers in Austin, Texas (without me begging her to) on her way home?  She picked these scrumptious colors in Lang Asia, which is 70% silk and 30% Yak!!!  I would have never guessed that Yak mix would be this soft but it is super soft.  And now I am ready to crochet along with y’all!

Here is my Part 1 with this yarn. I started with 200 chains for a single wrap and it measures about 39 inches (99 cm).  I repeated Rounds 7 & 8 to have 3 repeats of matsu (pine = fan stitch) rounds.  I am using a 3.75 mm hook.

I wanted to use up my yarn so I added a row of double crochet at the beginning of Part 2.
